Non-equilibrium, time-dependent effective theory of a weakly coupled superconductor at finite temperature. Abstract We perform a well defined derivative expansion to obtain the time dependent effective theory for a BCS superconductor at finite temperature, using an arbitrary curve in the complex time plane. Our expansion is unique, being free of any problems related to the order in which analytical continuation and the derivative expansion are made, or equivalently to the order in which the zero momentum and zero energy limits are taken. In other words Landau damping terms are present but do not lead to the pathologies found in standard approaches. We discuss the reason for this, suggesting that these standard approaches may be internally inconsistent. The methods presented here are an attempt to overcome those inconsistencies, and finally, our results are compared to others in the literature.

Shear viscosity and entropy production related to viscous process in hot QGP at finite density

In the framework of irreversible thermodynamics, we studied the transport properties of QGP. Shear viscosity and non-equilibrium entropy density related to viscous process at finite density has been investigated in weakly coupled limit by using kinetic theory. The results show that the chemical potential increases viscosity yet decreases the non-equilibrium entropy density and thus contributes ...

The Effect of Exchange-Correlation Holes on the Temperature Dependent Dynamic Dielectric Function of Single-Layer Quantum Wells and Coupled Nanolayers

In this paper, for the first time we have studied theoretically the effect of exchange-correlation holes around electrons in GaAlAs/GaAs/GaAlAs nanostructure on the temperature-dependent dynamic dielectric function of two-dimensional electron gas by employing random phase, STLS and Hubbard approximations. Also, we have investigated another interesting system which is coupled quantum wells struc...

Phase transitions out of equilibrium: Domain formation and growth.

We study the dynamics of phase transitions out of equilibrium in weakly coupled scalar field theories. We consider the case in which there is a rapid supercooling from an initial symmetric phase in thermal equilibrium at temperature Ti > Tc to a final state at low temperature Tf ≈ 0. In particular we study the formation and growth of correlated domains out of equilibrium. It is shown that the d...

Mathematical Modeling of the Temperature-Dependent Growth of Living Systems

In this investigation a non-equilibrium thermodynamic model of the temperature dependent biological growth of a living systems has been analyzed. The results are derived on the basis of Gompertzian growth equation. In this model, we have considered the temperature dependent growth rate and development parameter. The non-equilibrium thermodynamic model is also considered for exploring the variat...

Finite difference method for sixth-order derivatives of differential equations in buckling of nanoplates due to coupled surface energy and non-local elasticity theories

In this article, finite difference method (FDM) is used to solve sixth-order derivatives of differential equations in buckling analysis of nanoplates due to coupled surface energy and non-local elasticity theories. The uniform temperature change is used to study thermal effect. The small scale and surface energy effects are added into the governing equations using Eringen’s non-local elasticity...
